Riley Webb has opened up a massive lead in the PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Standings and is less than $35,000 away from Shad Mayfield’s regular season earnings record set last season.

While Webb has a lead of more than $65,000 on the next closest cowboy, we know nothing matters until December, which means there’s plenty of time for ropers like Brush Minton and Ty Harris to stay hot.

No. 1. Riley Webb - $172,180

Webb won big at the first two big rodeos of 100 Rodeos in 100 Days with a second place finish in the Average at the Reno Rodeo and a fourth place finish in the Average at the Greeley Stampede. Reno paid him $16,500 while Greeley added $7,100. Over Cowboy Christmas, he won more than $2,500 at the St. Paul Rodeo (Oregon), Molalla Buckeroo Rodeo (Oregon) and the Basin City Freedom Rodeo (Washington).

No. 3. Brushton Minton - $93,119

Minton has won about $50,000 since 100 Rodeos in 100 Days began, more than any other tie-down roper. He cleared $12,000 for a fourth place in Reno and has also added wins at the Old Santa Ynez Days (California), Eugene Pro Rodeo (Oregon), Big Fork Summer Pro Rodeo (Montana) and the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo (Utah) since June 15. All paid at least $2,300. Minton has moved up six spots in the last month.

No. 4. Ty Harris - $85,878

Harris has gone from No. 15 to No. 4 during 100 Rodeos in 100 Days much thanks to a win at the Ponoka Stampede on July 2. Harris has also won more than $5,000 at the Crooked River Roundup (Oregon), Greeley Stampede and Cody Stampede (Wyoming) over the last three weeks.

No. 8. Shane Hanchey - $63,143

Hanchey was not finished when he jumped 30 spots in the World Standings in one weekend in the spring. He’s moved up five spots to No. 8 since the beginning of June and has done it by winning two of the biggest rodeos of the summer - Greeley and St. Paul. In Greeley, he entered the Short Round ninth but rallied to win with a three-head time of 25.2 seconds. While in St. Paul, he won a bit more comfortably with a two-head time of 17.2 seconds.
